SEAVIEW VICTORIAN HOUSE
Devon
-
Nestled on the dramatic North Coast of Devon in the UK, Ilfracombe has a long and fascinating maritime and fishing history.
The town is now a very popular yet unspoiled holiday destination. It is home to 'Verity', Damien Hirst's dramatic sculpture as well as noted Michelen starred and listed eateries. Ilfracombe has a working harbour, with a number of deep sea fishing boats.
Some of the seafood they catch goes straight to S&P Fish restaurant that literally a few feet from where it is landed. You will struggle to get fresher seafood anywhere in the world! The VictorianTunnels Beach is a very popular wedding venue and is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the house.
When the tide is out, you can swim in the lido that is left behind, truly a relaxing experience left over from the Victorian era. At night, the harbour area has a number of busy pubs and restaurants that offer a wide range of food and craft ales.
Plus the option of just grabbing a portion of chips and watching the world go by. Just make sure the seagulls don't help themselves! Getting around If you aren't driving, you can get to Ilfracombe via rail (to Barnstable) and then a connecting bus. Once installed in the house though, everything is walking distance and there is really no reason to leave other than to top up on prosecco. Put your feet up, grab the binoculars and drink in that view!

Set in an elevated position overlooking the working harbour of Ilfracombe, Overboard offers exceptional, uninterrupted panoramic views across the town, coastline and sea — a visually striking backdrop for film, television, and photographic projects.
Despite its commanding viewpoint, the property is just minutes from Ilfracombe High Street, the historic harbour, and Tunnels Beach, making it highly accessible while remaining secluded and quiet, bordered by a private communal nature garden. This rare combination of central location and natural privacy makes Overboard an adaptable and practical filming base.
The property has been extensively renovated, presenting a clean, contemporary interior that contrasts beautifully with the traditional Devon harbour setting outside. Features include a modern fitted kitchen, updated bathrooms, and a wood-burning stove that adds warmth and character for winter or evening scenes.
The open-plan living areas are flooded with natural light and designed to maximise the harbour views, offering strong sightlines for both interior and exterior shots. A large rear decking area, accessed via double opening doors from the kitchen, provides an additional filming space suitable for lifestyle scenes, social gatherings, or exterior dialogue. The deck benefits from a sense of seclusion while still feeling open and connected to the surrounding landscape.
The accommodation layout includes three principal bedrooms (one king-size, one double, and one small double with bunk), with the option to convert the first-floor lounge into a fourth bedroom using a pull-out king-size daybed. Even with all rooms in use, the property retains generous open-plan communal spaces, allowing for crew movement, equipment setup, and flexible blocking. Overboard’s combination of harbour views, coastal character, modern interiors, outdoor space, and central access makes it particularly well-suited for filming.
