SHOOT THE BREEZE // EP. 4 WITH ACTOR GEORGE NETTLETON
Key Takeaways:
For film location managers, scouts and production companies: Episode Four showcases how versatile London studio spaces like Wharf Studios can be powerful, contained, high quality solutions for interviews, podcasts, studio fiction / high end promo work and BTS work without sacrificing production value.
For new potential location owners: this episode reveals how performance-led interview spaces are becoming increasingly desirable in the UK film + HETV landscape, proving that locations don’t need to be grand estates to be valuable – highly functional, well designed and central urban spaces are now major creative assets.
After spotlighting two very different rural Kent locations, an international film studio and a Tudor stately home, this month Shoot The Breeze shifts into the world of professional studio interview environments.
Shoot The Breeze is our monthly industry conversation series giving space to the voices inside the film location world – filmed on location, always. We speak with location managers, scouts, owners, creatives, and this month we open the conversation out to performers themselves.
Episode Four was filmed at Wharf Studios, London – a brilliant, stylish, award-winning set of studio spaces based in a former printworks just a short walk from Angel or Old Street.

About Wharf Studios
Wharf Studios is a highly film-friendly, London central location. 1200sqft and 1000sqft open plan studio units, 4 metre high ceilings, original warehouse features, light, character, props/furniture on hand, and the ability to go from natural available light to blackout studio control instantly.
These spaces are incredible for film, editorial, TV, TVCs, interviews, social formats, YouTube, streamer pieces and press days. The windows overlooking the quiet cobbled courtyard by Regent’s Canal are especially cinematic and give the space a unique sense of London identity.
This is exactly the kind of studio location that reminds filmmakers how powerful controlled London bases can be.

Why this episode matters to the Location Industry
This episode is powerful because it flips perspective. So often we only hear the location industry side, but here we hear from the performer inside the space. Performers experience space differently, as they respond to texture, shape, silence, air, volume, movement barriers, distance – and that informs truth, presence and emotional environment.
This matters for location owners - this matters for location managers and this matters for producers. In this episode we see how location is performance architecture.
