Location Spotlight: The Factory – An Industrial Icon Reimagined

Key Takeaways:

  • The Factory is one of SLs’ most in-demand industrial filming and event spaces, offering vast warehouse proportions, exposed brickwork, original concrete floors and dramatic natural light.

  • Exclusive flexibility through SL, The Factory has already hosted a major retailer’s campaign shoot, cementing its status as one of the hottest commercial film locations in London.

SL | Silverstein Locations is proud to shine a spotlight on one of our most sought-after venues: The Factory. Recently renovated to celebrate its raw, industrial heritage, this extraordinary site blends authentic architectural character with modern versatility—making it a premier destination for film, photography and large-scale events.

The Factory

Industrial Elegance with Authentic Character

The Factory pays homage to the raw and functional architecture of London’s Royal Docks. Its renovation celebrates the building’s history, with exposed red-brick walls, steel pillars and original concrete floors that carry decades of industrial heritage. The venue is named after its factory-style roof lightwells, which flood the interiors with natural daylight and provide a cinematic quality perfect for film, television and photography.

At the heart of the site is a spectacular warehouse stretching almost 70 metres long and 35 metres wide. Its 6.5 metre-high ceilings, factory windows and lightwells create a bright, versatile space with authentic industrial character. Bespoke shutters allow for complete light control, giving production crews flexibility to shape the atmosphere exactly as needed.

Versatile, Multi-Layered Spaces

The Factory offers more than just a single statement warehouse. Its adjoining spaces continue the industrial narrative while adding layers of flexibility for different creative needs.

  • Space 2 – A smaller, raw-feel room with exposed brick, pipework, and concrete floors. Letterbox windows can be blacked out, making it ideal as a bar, VIP lounge, production hub, or even a private set build.

  • Space 3 – Characterised by beautifully textured walls and signature roof lightwells, this bright and elevated industrial room overlooks the landmark Tate & Lyle Factory. It’s equally suited for exhibitions, breakouts, galleries, or as a filming backdrop.

Together, these spaces create a fully adaptable environment for everything from large-scale commercials and music videos to intimate photoshoots and brand activations.

Expansive Outdoor Potential

The venue also boasts a secure and gated outdoor area, accessible directly from the interior spaces. Landscaped and fully flexible, this exterior setting can host summer festivals, product launches, immersive experiences, and outdoor performances—making The Factory not only a filming location but also a destination venue.
